Mandatory Tasks
Do or Die
In true party spirit, we’ve given each team a balloon to look after for the entire race. If your balloon survives the duration of the race and crosses the finish line intact your team will be awarded a 10 minute time deduction! (note - sabotage is allowed!)
Solve the riddle and seek out your host to get one step closer to the finish line! If you fail to complete this you will be disqualified!
Penalty Tasks
Do or suffer a time penalty
Fitzroy has some of the best bars in Melbourne. Treat yourself to a well earned drink at a pub or cafe of your choice and complete the envelope challenge in your Race Kit. At the venue, get a team photo holding your completed pub quiz for a successfully completed challenge.
If you fail to send the team picture with your completed quiz you’ll receive a 20 minute penalty. You will receive a 1 minute penalty per incorrect or unanswered question.
Find this specific couch in Fitzroy and create your own opening credits to your teams sitcom. You can use the song, “I’ll be there for you” by the Rembrandts, or a song of your choice. Send a video to your host as proof!
If you fail to complete this you will receive a 15 minute penalty.
Fitzroy is known for the best vintage shopping in Melbourne - can you solve the anagram below to reveal the name of our favourite store and purchase the ugliest pair of cheap (no more than $10!!) shoes you can find?! One of your team members must wear them across the finish line for a successfully completed challenge! Failure to do this will result in a 10 minute penalty.
Two members of the team have to go up to a random person and ask them for their autograph as if they’re famous! Failure to do this will result in a 5 minute penalty.
Ready to experience a blast from the past? Take a photo of a team member holding a tech item from the past eg. flip phone, cassette, CD player, tamagotchi. Failure to do this will result in a 5 minute penalty.
Bonus Tasks!
Do and turn back time - Cher style!
Recreate ONE of these famous movie scenes with a member of the public for a time deduction! We love a good laugh so bonus minutes deducted for the most creative!
Time to get the public involved! For a 15 minute time deduction, get at least 3 members of the public - on video - to join your team in a viral Tiktok dance move OR 20-second conga line.
Nominate someone’s knee or elbow! Find a pen and turn that knee or elbow into a famous person! Text it through to your host and if they guess who it is we'll deduct 5 minutes!
Now it’s time to find a member of the public to fake a proposal scene! Film and send it to your host for a 10 minute deduction! They best be on one knee!
SABOTAGE TIME! If one of your team members manages to get a selfie of themselves with an entire other team in the background then your team will be awarded a 15 minute deduction. (BUT please note - it must be the whole team and they can’t be looking at the camera - otherwise it’s not valid!)
To deduct 10 minutes from your total race time, everyone on your team must cross the finish line wearing a fake moustache!
